2. Web site up and running . We will now transfer to a Pay/monthly site to avoid pop up
ads and facilitate space and the ease of getting to the site. We find that Tripod no
longer suits out needs.
3. Report on Hot Soup ....First Friday went well. Emily demo'd from 8 to 9pm and Jacqui
from 9-10 . There was a good public turnout.
4. Meetings have been suspended til September 10th so mark your calendars accordingly.
Our demo will be Jeri Warhaftig, and she will show us the use of a new tool for hollows.
That is all I will tell you, you will have to come to see what it is.
5. There is still a need for things for Judy's display for Second Saturday's. Please talk to
Diane Worthington dianeworthington@comcast.net as to what she needs or drop off at the store for the 13th of May, and talk to Patti Dougherty for demo's....she would like to set up a demo schedule for that Saturday The date is June 10th. questions: sparkypd@comcast.net Any pieces and /or beads will be offered up for sale, if you wish.
And there will be display space in the front windows and cabinets also.
Annoucements
Our own Jacqui Collins Parker is the recipient of a grant from Contemporary Glass
through Hot Soup in Philadelphia. She will be taking the week long Loren Stump class
At Carlisle, May 22 through the 26th. Rest up Jacqui, I understand it is a marathon.
Carlisle-----Bring family and friends and anyone interested in GLASS. Please make
sure you keep in mind the brunch of Sunday June 4th at Carlisle. It will be
a fun day for all. I have opened it up to the Mid-Atlantic chapters and the new Chapter
meeting up at Wale. It starts at 10:30 am. come and have waffles and see Katy Abbott
demo and Jacqui Collins-Parker demo. Jacqui is going to do florals, I'm not sure what
Katy is going to do. Make it a nice family outing day. And our last meeting til Sptember.
New Business
1. Welcome two new members, Jeri Warhaftig and Neil Fabricant from West Orange NJ.
2. Yvonne talked about her Artist Guild Project. She is involved in the Toms River Art Co-op
and the Ocean County Artist Guild. She needs pictures of pieces for a portfolio to show
them examples (like a juried show). But the show is not til 2007. Please help with
pictures. Please refer all questions to her. eve52063@comcast.net.
3. Judy wishes to express her thanks for the flowers, in remembrance of her mother.
4. Chris Sweeney talked about Beads for Courage, for Children with Cancer, lots more
info on this project and others in the Fire Mountain Catalog updated edition and
http://www.beadsofcourage.net/aboutcontent.htm Please look into this and see if this is
something that we as a group would like to participate in or individually, for the fall.
5. Merle would like to start a news letter and she and Chris Sweeney are going to
collaborate on this project.
